6 April 2021 is the start of the new tax year 2021-22. The 2020-2021 tax year ends 5 April 2021 and we will send out our tax return questionnaires shortly after this date for 2020-2021 tax year.
If you were employed or were receiving a pension at 5 April 2021, you should receive your P60 for the tax year ending 5 April 2021 by 31 May 2021.
9 June 2021 – send your questionnaire to us by this date if you need us to advise you of the income for your tax credits renewal. IF YOU DON’T GET YOUR TAX CREDIT RENEWAL FORM TO HMRC BY 31 JULY 2021, YOUR TAX CREDITS COULD BE STOPPED.
31 July 2021 – is the deadline for your tax credits renewal declaration and the payment of your second payment on account for 2020 – 2021.
Call us to review your payments on account – don’t pay HMRC more than you need to.

The children are back at school – so now you have more time to put your questionnaire together if you haven’t already done it.
30 September 2021 – send us your completed questionnaire if you want your tax collected through your tax code (certain conditions apply).
5 October 2021 – is the deadline for notifying HMRC of any new sources of income in 2020 – 2021 tax year
To avoid fireworks, call us for a duplicate tax return questionnaire if you can’t find it!!
Enjoy Christmas, but make sure you have completed your questionnaire and are ready to pay any tax that is due.
6 December 2021 – we must have your completed questionnaire in order for us to process your tax return in time for the tax return deadline on 31 January 2022.
30 December 2021 – your tax return must be received by HMRC for them to code out any unpaid tax.
31 January 2022 – is the deadline for:
• Online submission of your 2020 – 2021 tax return.
• Payment of your 2020 -2021 tax, and first payment on account for 2021-2022.
This is the last chance to avoid HMRC’s late filing penalties, and interest on the tax due.
If you have not paid your tax liability, please do so by 28 February to avoid a late payment surcharge.
